Since 4 June, Home Builder program is designed to benefit builders and possibly renovators with a grant of $25,000
ELIGIBILITY: - You are a natural person (not a company or trust) - You are aged 18 years or older - You are an Australian Citizen - You meet one of the following two income caps INCOME CAPS: - As an individual applicant: earns less than $125,000 per annum - As a couple: earns less than $200,000 per annum
- Based on your 2018-19 tax returns or later
BUILDING CONTRACT:
- Must be signed between 4 June and 31 December 2020 - Construction must commence within 3 months of the contract date - Must be to build a new or substantially renovate your existing owner-occupied home NEW HOUSE: - Property value is not over $750,000 RENOVATE: - Renovation contract from $150,000 - $750,000
- Existing property value is not over $1.5M

- You will NOT be eligible because the Building Contract was likely signed before 4/6/2020
I am not a first home buyer - can I access homebuilder?
- Yes! As long as you meet the eligibility criteria. Just a reminder that it is not available for investment properties or to owners-builders and DYI renovators
Bought land before 4 June 2020?
- You can still access the grant with an eligible building contract
Can I claim homebuilder together with FHOG?
- Yes, if you are eligible for the First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) and other First Home Owners subsidies, you can claim them all
What types of dwellings are eligible?
- All dwelling types (house, apartment, house & land package, off-the-plan, etc)
What renovations will be eligible?
- Renovations must improve the accessibility, liveability & safety of the property. It means those additions such as swimming pools, tennis courts, outdoor spas & saunas, sheds or garages cannot be included
